Ballinteer Club

Ballinteer Kenpo Karate Academy opened in St. Johns GAA Club, Ballinteer in October 2007.The Chief Instructor there is Mr. Nigel Byrne.
The Club is part of irishkenpo.com which is run by Mr. Jason O Keeffe, 6th Degree Black Belt and Association President of irishkenpo.com

The Junior classes are structured to be fun while instilling the traditional values of discipline and respect for others. The children are encouraged to improve but always at their own pace. Achievements are rewarded but not guaranteed. This ensures that the child’s performance is something that they can be truly proud of.

The Senior class includes TAE-BO, Self Defence, Sparring and Karate.
TaeBo is a form of cardiovascular exercise popularized in the late 1980s by Billy Blanks.
This form of fitness regimen is fun and energizing as it is an intense workout that incorporates kicks from kickboxing, choreography and electronic music from hip hop, forceful punches from self-defense and martial arts, stretching and holds from yoga, and constant movement from aerobics.

The Club is on two nights a week Monday and Thursday's.

Junior Classes 7 - 8
Senior Classes 8 - 9.30

Congratulations to all those who passed their Gradings on 26-11-2009, and well done to Thomas Dunne who received the award for Student of the year 2009.
